It is our mission to create sustainable landscape design that is both beautiful and vibrant as well as energy and water efficient. Our goal is to use the latest technologies in water-efficient irrigation systems, smart irrigation controllers, climate appropriate plants, rainwater harvesting, permeable paving and more to provide environmentally responsible landscaping. We have been creating water wise gardens for over 10 years and therefore possess considerable knowledge of the particular needs of climate-appropriate, drought-tolerant, California-friendly plants, Mediterranean, and native and other native species.
John’s Tree and Landscaping will organize the garden into hydrozones by grouping plants with similar water needs. Installers will select plants in this program that will be separated into three water need categories: very low, low, and medium.
Your Sustainable Garden in Three Easy Steps:
- We conduct an initial landscape audit, which costs $65-$95, depending on the size of your property. This written assessment is conducted on site and will provide you with options for improving efficiency, sustainability, and your garden’s overall design.
- From those options, we work with you to create your personalized path to sustainability, choosing the solutions that best suit your needs and provide the greatest return on your investment.
- Your design is installed by our trusted landscape contractors who are committed to the environment, quality design and craftsmanship, as well as, responsive, dependable service.
Erosion Control Planting -
Another specialty is hillside plantings for erosion control & fire safety. We will carefully evaluate your hillside elevation and select the correct ground cover for surface soil retention), small shrubs for soil retention and limited hillside stabilization, large shrubs and trees for hillside stabilization, shrubs and trees for erosion control in dry and moist shade. To maximize irrigation systems, in our design work we group plantings into clusters that have the same water needs. Then we design an irrigation system that waters these different areas individually.
